4。5 - if I had been able to watch Mac & Shawn read the whole thing， then totally a 5 - they are hilarious！

This was a fun graphic novel for the elementary school set。 The moon has a giant bite taken out of it by alien rats that have escaped。 There’s only one solution send a cat。 The number of times this cat tries to eat pizza as their first meal is daunting。 Yes they finally do get their pizza but lots of crazy things have to happen in between。 We have a talking toenail clipping robot， a moon queen， and a whole bunch of other things。 The adventure reads like a younger version of lord of the rings and This was a fun graphic novel for the elementary school set。 The moon has a giant bite taken out of it by alien rats that have escaped。 There’s only one solution send a cat。 The number of times this cat tries to eat pizza as their first meal is daunting。 Yes they finally do get their pizza but lots of crazy things have to happen in between。 We have a talking toenail clipping robot， a moon queen， and a whole bunch of other things。 The adventure reads like a younger version of lord of the rings and in fact the rings is even mentioned later in the book。 Part of the story remind me of the Never Ending Story。 Other parts are just laugh out loud。 Kids of all ages will find this a fun comedic adventure to keep them flipping through all 323 pages。 。。。more

Mac was a quarantine hero for our family。 We loved his book club。。 and we came to love Shawn Harris， too。 It makes me so happy to have a copy of First Cat in hand for my family。 I thought I’d be first to read it since I pre-ordered it and all， but alas… daughter got it out of the mail and read it first。

I’m not a huge fan of graphic novels， but this book was cute， snarky and I had several laugh out loud moments。 First a toe nail clipping robot， the illustration on pg 140， the worm（oh my） and snuggle bunnies with grandmas。 Zoop！The illustrations are great and the text is clear to follow。
